Safe Spaces for War-Affected Women, Girls, and Children in Raqqa
The project “Darna Al-Aminah – Our Safe Home” is an ongoing project since year 2020.
Project Summary
Darna Al-Aman (Our Safe Home): continuation of life-saving protection and empowerment services for conflict-affected women, girls, and children in Raqqa (northeast Syria).
The overall goal of the project is to contribute to the protection and empowerment of war-affected women, girls, and children and improve their psychosocial well-being in northeastern Syria. Furthermore, to preserve and enhance the protective space for war-affected civilians in Raqqa, targeting women and girls at risk and survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and children and care givers, including specialized support for children experiencing violence, neglect, abuse, and exploitation. The project also provides Case Management and Referral services.
The aim of this project is to meet the growing protection needs in the community, improve access to services for women and children at risk in the area and promote their rights through safe spaces, child friendly space (CFS) and women and girls safe space (WGSS).
