War in Syria - Help Them Now

In the recent military escalations in Syria circa 100,000-200,000 persons mainly Kurds were forcibly displaced from their homes in Aleppo and fled to Northeast Syria. Here is a mother with her child looking for shelter and support after they fled from Aleppo to Raqqa. This was documented by DOZ Team in Syria in December 2024

Circa 200,000 People in Urgent Need and Numbers are Increasing

SOHR warned in early December 2024 that around 200,000 Syrian Kurds in north Aleppo Province have been "besieged by pro-Turkey factions". Those people fled recently from Aleppo to Northeast Syria. They are mostly children, women, and girls and they don't have any shelter or basic life needs in this cold winter. They need immediate support and protection. The numbers of displaced people fleeing from violence are increasing rapidaly.

How Can You Support?

DOZ International will collaborate, support, and work together with university students such as (Komelya Xwendekarên Kurd-Zanîngehe Helebê) and other local partners and NGOs in Northeast Syria try to support the people fled from Aleppo by local donations actions that included providing clothes, food, and free transportation. We also started this donation campaign so we can provide regular support to the people in coming months. We will create safe spaces for women and children to escape violence and exploitation, offering trauma counseling and support to survivors.

Establishing community-based learning centers, provide school
supplies, and offer digital tools to ensure children continue their education, even in the midst of
crisis.

Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), Shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene)

We will offer emergency food, shelter, water, and winterization support to displaced families. We will provide after displaced families were provided with basis services, vocational training and economic empowerment programs for women and youth helping them to rebuild their livelihoods, support their families, and lead their communities in recovery.
